The more we know our self, the less we harm our self
Being human is a tricky business, we seek inner peace, but sometimes it is difficult, bewildering and frustrating for us to manage the way we feel, think and behave. This can cause distress, disturbance and pain for us and those around us.
The root of the issues could be in our past, present or in our concern for the future.
These issues often manifest in symptoms such as; depression, anxiety, disconnection, dissatisfaction, addictive behaviours, self sabotaging and self defeating behaviours, post traumatic stress disorder, attachment, relationship issues and complex bereavement. Or even an inner restlessness, as though we know something is missing/ or not right, but we just can’t put our finger on it, as it is out of our awareness.
There is a part of every living thing that wants to become its self, a tadpole into frog, chrysalis into butterfly, a complex discombobulated human being into one that is more whole and knowing of its self. The understanding of ones self brings peace and clarity of our purpose and meaning. I wholeheartedly believe everyone has inner healing resources when they connect and listen to their innate intelligence.
I have been privileged to work with thousands of clients in therapy and have witnessed them learning to manage their self , change their minds and find more inner peace and contentment.
The mind is an amazing thing. It doesn’t come with a owners manual, and even if it did, there would be a need for each one to be different for each individual, as our perceptions of the world are unique to each of us.
It is difficult for us to be in the present and deal with our issues when we are caught in the grip of intense emotion or a distorted perception of the world. Getting to know what is going on for you inside will provide some instant symptom relief and offer guidance about what you need to do for your wellbeing.
To help you find your way of healing we start with your self inquiry, your relationship with your self. To discover what's beneath the symptoms, what drives you to behave, think and feel in a way that doesn’t serve you.
This awareness of how to work with your mind can promote the realisation of your power of choice. This liberates you from being stuck in those habits and patterns of thinking, feeling and behaviour that do not benefit you. When you have this awareness you can begin your self transformation.
